Honing the Visibility of TDWG: Communications expertise required

All organizations need clear and succinct mission vision statements to communicate the purpose overall goals of group. These products provide foundation for development long(er) term strategic planning including communication plans. Logos offer us another way highlight brand what we do why it. Periodically, all organizations, these be reviewed. The Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG) Outreach Communication Subcommittee took on this challenge started a process re-assess our current identity as presented in existing original vision, mission, logo. From beginning, subcommittee decided follow bottom-up method invite members contribute refine its results. Community had observed that logo, simple lettering abbreviated old name organization's name, needed revised more memorable fit use not only website, but everything from slide decks hex stickers laptops. Similarly, some noted were combined included other information like “how” TDWG works community-driven make biodiversity data accessible. It was time refresh TDWG’s with additional keep reflecting values long-standing traditions characterize community through new modern glass.
